Nutrition Resources

EFNEP

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) serves the limited resource families of Pueblo County. The EFNEP program serves families with children who are receiving assistance with their living expenses. The educational goals of EFNEP are:

   • To improve the nutritional well being of limited-resource Pueblo families and youth
   • Provide education that improves clients’ health, saves money, and raises self-esteem

Nutrition classes are offered in both English and Spanish. Call 583-6566 for information in English and 583-4993 for information in Spanish.

 


FANE

The Food Assistance Nutrition Education program (FANE) serves the limited resource population of Pueblo County including the elderly and single individuals. FANE strives to reach food stamp eligible individuals.

Our part-time nutrition educator present fun-filled, hands-on nutrition and food related topics and presentations to organizational groups throughout Pueblo County.  One-day mini sessions or fairs can be presented to agencies and non-profits serving limited resource individuals and families.  Eating healthy, saving money on grocery bills, meal planning and keeping foods safe are a few of the many topics covered in our program.
