The Construction Process

March 7, 2006 - Deciding on the location	Checking out elevations
Moving soil in place for the first tier of seating
Compacting the base for each tier is critical	Shaping the seating areas and moving more soil in place
March 8, 2006 - earth moving continues	Snow slows us down on March 10, 2006
March 15, back to work
Wayne Hopper checks out the plan - March 16, 2006 - the first base was compacted
March 20, 2006 - finishing the first tier and setting the base of the second
March 21, 2006 - working on the second tier
March 22 - Working on the second tier of seating
March 24, 2006 - cutting block and setting the cap layer
April 4 - The volunteer crew builds one of the wings	April 10 - Wayne places the last 80 pound block & other than the final cap blocks the three tiers of walls are finished
April 10, 2006 - putting the finishing touches on one of the boulders
The Speaker's Platform	Wayne and Matt finished the amphitheater on March 22, 2007.

Thanks to a grant from the Colorado Garden Show, Inc., the Amphitheater at The Gardens was able to be completed in early 2007. The grant application was submitted by the Western Colorado Gardening Foundation. The dedication was held on June 9, 2006.
