Planting our collection of crabapples

May 25, 2005

Twenty five crabapples were provided courtesy of J_Frank_Schmidt_logo of Boring Oregon.

Adirondack, Candymint, Centurion, David, Firebird, Indian Magic, Indian summer, Louisa, Luwick, Molten Lava, Pink Princess, Prairifire, Profusion, Purple, Prince, Radiant, Red Barron, Robinson, Royal fountain, Royal Raindrops, Sargent, Sentinel, Spring Snow, Sugar Tyme, White Cascade, Zumi Calocarpa

These trees are being planted in alphabetical order from east to west. The first 19 cultivars were planted by Vince Urbina, Colorado State Forest Service, several Master Gardeners and members of the Canyon View Vineyard Church of Grand Junction. The remaining 7 trees were potted up and will be planted when the next spot of ground is prepared and the irrigation system installed in that area.
