Irrigation Audits Conducted by Colorado State University
Extension - Mesa County Office

Improve the efficiency of your irrigation system, reduce the amount of water applied and money spent, and improve the overall health of the plants in the landscape.

An irrigation audit will provide:

A written summary of problems
- unreasonable drops in water pressure
- improper head spacing
- different heads on the same zone
- tilted heads
- heads that are too deep
- misaligned heads
- etc.
A Map of each zone indicating problems to be corrected.
An explanation of how to set your irrigation clock for each month of the irrigation season.
Identification of insect and disease problems and management options.
A follow-up visit to answer your questions and assist you in fine-tuning your irrigation program.

To qualify for an irrigation audit, the turf area needs to have an underground irrigation system controlled by an irrigation clock and be within the Grand Valley of Western Colorado. The property manager or owner must be present during the audit.

Audits are available by calling Ardith Blessinger at the CSU Extension office in Grand Junction at 683-4365.

The 2007 program was funded by the Bureau of Reclamation, Colorado State Univeristy, the Grand Valley Irrigation Company, the Mesa County Irrigation Company and Grand Junction Pipe and Supply
