Our Mission

To reach limited resource Coloradoans with nutrition, food safety, and food-buying education, enabling them to establish healthy food-related behaviors.

Outcome Goals:

Improved nutrient intakes
Improved food safety practices
Improved food-buying skills and behaviors
Increased self-efficacy

Philosophy: Provide research-based information that assists low-income audiences:

1. make informed decisions about their health and spending patterns
2. move toward economic self-sufficiency

About Food Stamps

The determination of Food Stamp benefits is based on these suppositions:

All meals and snacks are purchased at grocery stores and prepared at home.
Meals and snacks are planned and prepared based on the Dietary Guidelines.
Foods are to be usually prepared from scratch.

Limited resource residents of the Tri River Area will find help with many recipes using simple ingredients at http://recipefinder.nal.usda.gov/
