Delta County 4-H Foundation
What is the Delta County 4-H Foundation?
The Delta County 4-H Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance for 4-H youth educational scholarships, programs, events, and activities.
The Delta County 4-H Foundation Provides
Funds for the Following:
* College or vocational scholarships to recognize and reward outstanding members
of Delta County 4-H Clubs.
* Financial assistance for youth and club leaders participating in county, state,
or national 4-H approved educational programs, events and activities.
* Monetary support for other educational pursuits and activities in which 4-H
members and leaders are engaged.
How is the Delta County 4-H Foundation
Funded?
Private funds are needed to help support the Foundation in its efforts to provide
scholarships and other financial assistance to Delta County youth. The Foundation
raises funds through donations from businesses, organizations, financial institutions,
and planned giving from individuals.
Who Administers the Funds?
The business of the Foundation is managed according to the by-laws of the Delta
County 4-H Foundation. A nine-member Board of Trustees is elected from the membership
of the Foundation. Members of the Board of Trustees serve a three-year term
without pay.
Funds generated through the Foundation are audited on an annual basis by the Colorado 4-H Youth Fund, Inc. This report is presented at the Board of Trustees' annual meeting.
Types of funds Donors Can Create
With a minimum contributuion of $5,000.00 you can establish and name
a designated fund. A gift of any amount may be made at any time to the general
fund or to an existing fund.
Unrestricted Funds
Unrestricted Funds are managed according to the goals and by-laws of the Delta
County 4-H Foundation.
Designated Funds
Designated Funds allow donors to provide support for a specific 4-H project
area, or a program with a similar purpose.
Endowment Funds
Donors may establish an Endowment Fund, thereby protecting their endowed monies.
This fund provides a relatively constant source of annual income to fulfill
the donor's charitable goals, while supporting the efforts of the Delta County
4-H Foundation.

Maximum Tax Benefits
All gifts to the Delta County 4-H Foundation are tax deductible to the maximum
extent permissable by law.
Acknowledgement
You may create a fund in your name, a family member's name, or the name of a
business, organization, agency or foundation. Scholarships and grants will be
awarded in the name of the fund as a lasting symbol of your caring. These awards
can also be made anonymously, if you choose.
Convenience
The Delta County 4-H Foundation through the Colorado 4-H Youth Fund, Inc., has
the legal apparatus in place to establish a fund and obtain tax advantages and
charitable goals in a relatively short time. The scholarship and grant selection
process, administrative tasks, annual independent audit, and tax returns are
all handled by the Delta County 4-H Foundation.
