4-H Program

4-H
is the youth development program of the United States Department
of Agriculture and Colorado State University Extension.
-
4-H
is open to any child, ages 5-18: Cloverbud (5-7),
Traditional (8-18).
-
4-H
Ages are divided into developmental states: Cloverbuds
(5-7), Junior (8-10), Intermediate (11-13), and Senior (14-18).

The
4-H year begins on October 1st and ends the following September
30th of each year.

offers a variety of ways to be involved with the program:

Clubs
offering more than one project area.

offering just one specific project.

enrichment and after-school programs.

The
4 H's stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health that follow with
a 4-H Pledge that each member and leader say at the beginning of
each meeting:

pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater
loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to
better living, for my club, my community, my country, and
my world.

"To
Make the Best Better" has been known as the 4-H Motto,
and "Learn by Doing" has been the 4-H Slogan.
