Workshops and Trainings

  • Officer Training
This workshop shows officers creative ways to hold an office, run meetings and how to lead a team of youth.

  • Leadership Training
These workshops highlight the characteristics of a leader and ways that we can gain these skills and use what we already have inside to become a better leader.

  • Ice-Breaker, Team-Builder and Communications Workshops
These workshops offer ways to fill up time, relax and have fun, and several games that promote communication, teamwork and getting to know one another in a new group setting.

Events and Activities

  • Student Involvement Fair          (Pictures)
At the beginning of every fall and spring semester, the ASCSU (Student Government) holds a showcase of the many different student organizations on campus. Our club usually participates in the hopes of making others aware of what Collegiate 4-H is all about, as well as trying to attract new members.

  • Ag Adventure Day          (Pictures)
Ag Adventure Day is a program held every fall for the area Third Graders from the Poudre School District. Our club as well as many others put on a day of education for the kids about the importance of agriculture and teach them about different areas such as farming, raising livestock and tractor safety. The Collegiate booth teaches the students about various seeds and where they are grown around the world.

  • Ag Day          (Pictures)
Ag Day is a huge event put on every fall by the College of Ag here at CSU. They serve  food that is all grown in Colorado, have live music and a variety of display booths that relate to agriculture. We put out a booth every year to showcase our club and for our support of agriculture.

  • Clover Cafe          (Pictures)
This is a service project / fundraising opportunity that our club does here at Aylesworth Hall on campus. One day during the first week of every month, the club members donate food, cooking skills and their time to prepare lunch for the staff here in the 4-H office and Aylesworth Hall. The meal is free but we ask for donations and have thus far had many satisfied customers.

  • Western Regional Collegiate 4-H Conference          (Pictures)
This conference usually takes place in November of every year. At this conference we have our annual meeting, elect officers, do workshops and have some good ol' fashioned fun. Our Western Region consists of member schools from the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Every fall the conference rotates between states.

  • Western National Roundup          (Pictures)
Held every year in beginning to mid January in Denver. This conference is a usually four days long and the delegates participate in workshops, various tours and judging experiences. This conference is a reward for the youth that have excelled in their states at different competitions. It is held in conjunction with the National Western Stock Show, where a large livestock judging competition takes place. Our duties include serving as role models, and facilitators to the youth, coaches, judges, speakers and workshop presenters.

  • Colorado Leadership Development Conference (LDC)          (Pictures)
This conference is held every February in conjunction with the Colorado State 4-H Senate and Leader Meetings. As Collegiates, we help out as workshop presenters and as facilitators to help everything at the conference run smoothly.

  • National Collegiate 4-H Conference          (Pictures)
Generally held in late February of every spring, this conference is a larger version of the Regional conferences. Collegiate members attend for career and personal development, to gain leadership skills that can be taken back to their own clubs, as well as to network with other Collegiates from across the nation.

  • Rocky Mountain Horse Expo          (Pictures)
This Expo is a trade show and an expo with demonstrations, speakers and lecturers. The Horse Judging Contest held at this event includes three divisions and is open to 4-H, FFA, breed association and college teams. Collegiate members have in the past helped with the judging contests, awards ceremony and anything else that needs attending to.

  • Ag Expo          (Pictures)
Ag Expo is held in the Spring every year and is put on by the Ag Council and Ag College. All the clubs that are involved with Ag Council or with Ag can put up a display booth and showcase their club and their support for agriculture.

  • CSU Ag Council          (Pictures)
Ag Council was formed to help promote the importance of Agriculture in today's world. The organization consists of representatives from all the clubs in the College of Ag. as well as clubs such as ours who are interested in being a part of the Council. We attend meetings and bring back ideas and opportunities to our club that allow us to help promote agriculture as a part of 4-H.

  • Paul Hoshiko, Jr. Memorial 4-H Golf Tournament          (Pictures)
This annual golf tournament is held every summer, with the proceeds going to the Colorado 4-H Youth Fund. The Youth Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to generating and providing support for 4-H opportunities that help to develop valuable life skills in Colorado youth. Our members help donate their time and energy to the full-day event in many different areas of the tournament.

  • Colorado State 4-H Conference          (Pictures)
This conference is held every summer in June. It offers a chance for Colorado 4-H members and leaders to attend workshops, senate meetings and elections and participate in judging contests. Our Collegiate duties are very similar to those of Roundup and LDC, which means we are there to help everything run smoothly and make sure that those attending the conference have an enjoyable time!
