National Collegiate 4-H Organization
What is Collegiate4h.org? Collegiate4h.org is the homepage for all things related to the Collegiate 4-H organization on the national level. The website contains information about what Collegiate 4-H is, where to find clubs in your local area, media materials for use by clubs, and much more! The website is a brand new project this year under the National Action Board (NAB) and is still under construction, but already full of great contacts and information! Check it out here.
What is NAB? The National Action Board or NAB is the governing body for the Collegiate 4-H organization at the National level. Their job is to provide information and guidance to clubs across the country as well as to preserve the organization as a whole. The board consists of 8 members, 1 Regional President from each region (North-Central, North-Eastern, Southern, & Western), and 1 past regional president from each region to act as a support for the current Regional President. The board is governed over by the Regional President from the region that is hosting the National Conference that year and their position is replaced by a conference representative. For more information about the National Action Board and their duties please Click Here.
What is the National Conference? National Conference or Nationals is a gathering of all members of the Collegiate 4-H organization once every year to exchange ideas and insight on how to improve the Collegiate 4-H organization as well as how to better contribute to the 4-H community as a whole. Delegates who attend the conference learn leadership training skills, and participate in workshops to help improve their teaching skills. During the National Conference, delegates participate in a national service project and vote on issues relating to the organization as a whole. The Conference is hosted by each region on a rotating basis. For more information, please click here.
Scheduled Conference Hosting for next 4 years:
2008- Western Region *(hosted by CSU Collegiate 4-H, UW Collegiate 4-H, & UNR Collegiate 4-H) 2009- North-Eastern Region 2010- North Central Region 2011- Southern Region
What is the Western Region? Colorado State University Collegiate 4-H belongs to the Western region of the Collegiate 4-H organization. The Western region provides Collegiate 4-H with a connection to the National Collegiate 4-H organization through regional officers. There are 3 regional offices available to anyone in the region who wishes to participate in the organization at the regional and national levels. The regional President acts as the liaison of the region to the National Action Board (NAB) and is also responsible for bringing National information to the region as a whole. The business manager for the region takes care of the financial aspects of the region (regional dues). The regional secretary maintains the regional website and keeps track of Regional business and taking notes of all meetings within the region.
Participating in the Western region gives Collegiate 4-H clubs contacts in other states around them and helps to develop regional unity. It's also a great way to make new friends!
What is Regional Conference? Regionals is a conference available to all clubs in the region to participate. It is similar to the National Conference. |
