History

The Castle Rock Farmer's Market, originally named Plum Creek Valley Farmer's Market, was started in 1987 as the brainchild of Douglas County Master Gardener, Julia Geolat. Julia started at a tennis court next to what is now the Wilcox Building with one large vegetable vendor. Since then the farmer's market has grown into a popular community meeting place where residents can buy fresh vegetables, fruits, breads, flowers, salsa's, handmade gifts and more. The market now runs from early July until early October.

Mission

The Castle Rock Farmer's Market provides Douglas County residents with a local market where they can purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and other horticultural products. The market allows for county residents to meet their neighbors in a rural setting and promote farm and ranch activities, which have been on the decline since the urban expansion in the area.

Vendor Information

The Castle Rock Farmer's Market only accepts applications from vendors selling horticulture and related items.
