Small Acreage Management

Colorado State University Extension in El Paso County hosts various educational seminars and workshops throughout the year on small acreage management. As they become available they will be advertised on this page and you will be able to download registration materials here.

New Small-scale or Backyard Composting WWW site

A significant fraction of the solid waste generated in the U.S. is organic material like yard trimmings and food scraps that can be recycled through small-scale composting. The Cornell Waste Management Institute has launched a new WWW site at http://cwmi.css.cornell.edu/smallscalecomposting.htm.
The site provides information for both composters and for educators seeking to promote home composting. Resources include a guide for developing Master Composter programs, information relevant to composting at schools, as well as fact sheets, videos and information on home compost demo sites in NYS.
