Keynote Speaker Eli Bremer‐2008 Olympic Team Member
Eli grew up in Colorado Springs and attended Lewis Palmer High School. He attended College at the United State Air Force Academy where he lettered in NCAA Division 1 swimming and fencing. After graduating and commissioning Eli was assigned to the Air Force World Class Athlete Program and was permitted to train pentathlon full time. From 2000-2004 Eli established himself as a rising star in the sport of pentathlon, winning nationals in 2002 and placing third in 2001 and 2003. Eli pursed competing in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece but an untimely broken foot ended his 2004 Olympic hopes. The silver lining was that Eli was hired by NBC to help produce the shooting events at the 2004 Olympics. While at the Olympics, Eli was recruited to provide on-air commentary for the modern pentathlon event. The US Air Force allowed Eli to return to full-time training in late 2005. The fruits of his labor quickly became apparent when he won the Pan American Championships in 2005 and 2006, qualified for the finals in four of the six w\World Cups in 2006, and won the 2006 US Open Championships. He then qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games by winning a Gold Medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio. We are very pleased to have Eli as our Keynote speaker at this years Huddle!

True Colors is a fun and interactive class that will help you identify what your primary personality color is and how it affects your interactions with other colors. Blue care about people and feelings, Orange are the outgoing and fun-loving people who often act before thinking about the outcomes, Gold are those who are structured and have a plan, while green are the out of the box thinkers often involved in new technology or in exploration in new fields. What does this have to do with 4-H? If you know your color and those of others, you are able to know how to best work with those of other colors to create a positive experience for all involved. We tend to laugh a lot and see ourselves and others in a new way.
2:30pm - 3:15 pm - Take Action - Presenter: Jonathan Vrabec - What can clubs do to involve new members and help them feel welcome and included? Breaking into a new group of people and feeling welcome can be hard for new families! What actions can clubs take to ensure their longevity? We all need to work together to build the Colorado State University Extension 4-H Program in El Paso County and help it grow. |
