Tommy L.
Covington, County Extension Director, Agriculture, Horticulture and
4-H Youth Development. Originally from Texas, Tommy received his Bachelor
of Science degree in Agricultural Education and Master of Science degree
in Agriculture from East Texas State University. Before coming to Fremont
County in June of 1995 he taught Agriculture Sciences for 22 years at Duncanville
High School. As county director he is responsible for administration of
the Fremont County program, managing personnel and setting budgets. He works
closely with the Board of County Commissioners to provide a quality extension
program for the clientele of the county. He offers programming and answers
questions in all areas of agriculture, horticulture, natural resources and
small acreage management. Tommy spends a great deal of time in partnership

Verla Noakes,
Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development and Family & Consumer Sciences. A
South Dakota native, Verla has lived most of her life in Colorado. She earned
her Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences at the University of
Southern Colorado. Verla is responsible for implementing the Fremont County
4-H program which has over 400 members and leaders in 20 organized clubs.
Verla can show you how the Fremont County 4-H program can enhance your child's education and personal growth. She offers educational programming in a variety of topics concerning Youth Development as well as Family & Consumer Sciences. She has a 25% appointment in the Federal Nutrition Education Program. Dividing her time between Fremont and Custer Counties, Gale provides programming in gerontology, parenting, childcare provider pre-licensing, food safety for food handlers, food preservation & preparation, nutrition & health and family financial information. Becky Chace, Extension Secretary. A native of Denver, Becky has been a part of the
Fremont County Extension Office since January 1999. Becky manages the day to day operation
of the Fremont County Extension Office. Although she works in all areas Becky is the primary
4-H secretary in charge of the Blue Ribbon 4-H enrollment program. Hers is usually the first
voice you hear when you contact our office. She is available to answer your questions, direct
your calls and provide informational materials upon your request. Contact Becky at

Edna
Bayes, Extension Secretary. Edna comes to us from Missouri and is the
newest member of the Fremont County Extension Office joining us in July
2003. Her primary duties include managing our vast assortment of educational
materials, Baby's First Wish and CYFAR. Edna also works with the Fremont
County Fair Board. She provides secretarial support for all of the extension
agents and answers phones when needed. Edna is available to answer your
questions, direct your calls and provide informational materials upon your
