Emerald Ash Borer Found in Boulder
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was found in Boulder, CO, in September 2013. As a non-native insect, EAB lacks predators to keep it in check. EAB only attacks ash trees, and is responsible for the death of millions of ash trees in the midwest.
To help you decide about treatment options, please see the fact sheet "Control Options for Emerald Ash Borer in Colorado" by CSU Extension Entomologist Whitney Cranshaw at this link on the Colorado Department of Agriculture's web site.
Please note that no hardwood tree samples can be brought to the Jefferson County Plant Diagnostic Clinic from Boulder County.
