About the Cloverbud program

  • The program is designed for children 5-7 years old.

  • Cloverbud members may also be a part of traditional 4-H clubs, may do as many cloverbud activities as they want and may exhibit at our county fair.

  • Any participation in 4-H events by Cloverbuds is non-competitive.

Benefits of the Cloverbud program

  • Helps children prepare for the traditional 4-H program

  • Project materials are specially designed for their age group

  • Members form clubs so they will gain useful knowledge and group skills

  • Life skills are learned through hands-on activities with children their own age

A few rules for Cloverbuds

CSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Programs do not allow, support or recommend the following for youth under the age of eight:

  • Large animal activities and projects, including but not limited to:  cattle, sheep, swine and horses (including horseback riding)

  • Small animal projects and activities

  • Shooting sports activities and projects
