4-H JR. Science Explorers Club

 

Sponsors:  4-H JR. Science Explorers Club sponsored by Colorado State University Extension/4H Program

Ages:  Open to youth entering 3rd grade in the fall.

Fee: $155/week

Dates:  Each camp is five days long.  Sessions are available the following weeks in 2012: June 11-15 and June 25-29.

Camp is held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 W 6th Ave, Unit C, Golden CO

 Each day of the week paves the way to a new exploration outdoors.  Join us for the fun! 

Sampling of the educational activities and games offered:

  • Field trip to Lookout Mountain Nature Center for naturalist lead Plant PARTners program!
  • Safely capture and observe the tiniest wildlife – insects & bugs!
  • Learn about Colorado’s large wildlife and cast wildlife tracks!
  • Discover clues left by wild animals at naturalist guided program Wild Messages at Meyer Ranch!
  • Take a micro-hike!
  • Learn the basics of nature photography and shoot your own nature photos!
  • Go on a nature scavenger hunt!
  • Camouflage Relay
  • Animal Charades
  • Using things borrowed from nature, make a Cooperation Sculpture and perform in a Cooperation Orchestra!
  • Play in nature!
  • The THING tag
