Jefferson County Junior Livestock Sale

Help Jefferson County's youth showcase the skills they have learned with your participation as a bidder in this year's Jeffco Junior Livestock Sale!

Why do we need your support in this sale?

  • To create an educational opportunity for 4-H youth, parents and the public.
  • To provide financial incentives to 4-H youth involved in market animal projects
  • To allow for management experience for 4-H youth in decision making, teamwork, and advertising and public relations skills.
  • To help 4-H members to learn and practice life skills

The sale will be run as a Premium Sale, taking the focus off purchasing the animal and putting it towards the educational efforts of the youth and all the hard work involved in the project.  As a bidder, you will bid on the premium rather the animal, showing direct support of the youth's efforts.  As a winning bidder, you also have the first option to purchase the meat animal at the prearranged market value.

Please join us Friday, August 7, 2009 for the 4-H livestock shows beginning at 8:00 a.m.; and Saturday, August 8 at 4:30 p.m. for the pre-sale barbecue, and at 6:00 p.m. for the Sale.

If you have any questions, please contact Marian Phillips at (303) 838-7443 or the Jefferson County 4-H office at (303) 271-6620.  Thank you very much for your support.
