Purpose and Role of the Jefferson County
Extension Advisory Board

 

The purpose of the Extension Advisory Board is to provide support to the Extension program in Jefferson County through:

  • assisting the County Extension Director and Extension Agents in determining issues and program priorities within the county;

  • suggesting resources and delivery methods to address the identified priorities;

  • communicating with elected officials and other decision-makers about the impacts of extension programs and obtaining their feedback on these programs; and

 

The Advisory Board is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and meets bi-monthly at the extension office on the Jefferson County Fairgrounds (map).
