Health
Nutrition and health programs are available
for consumers, agencies, schools, churches, child care providers, and other groups.
The following are brief descriptions of the programs offered by the
CSU Extension Office.

A one-hour diabetes awareness program for adults 35 years and older.
- Diabetes is a significant health
issue in the United States.
- Who is at greatest risk?
- What are the signs and symptoms of
type 2 diabetes?
- What positive lifestyle changes
can delay or prevent type 2 diabetes?
Nutrition Education Program
for Limited Resource Audiences
These free nutrition education programs help
limited resource Coloradoans stretch their food dollar while learning to
eat more nutritiously. Through a series of classes with hands-on
activities, participants learn to get the most nutritional value for their food
dollar.
Eat
Well for Less
Some of the topics include:
- Healthy lifestyles based on the new Dietary
Guidelines and the Food Guide Pyramid
- Budgeting your food dollar

Planning nutritious meals
- Using leftovers and foods on-hand to stretch
your food dollar
- Tips for saving money at the grocery store
- Safe food preparation and storage
Educational opportunities may be offered in a
variety of ways to those with limited resources:
- Single event presentation, 1-2 hours on the topic
of your choice
- Series of classes using the CSU Extension Eat Well For Less curriculum. Classes may be
presented in a series of either 6 two-hour lessons or 4 two-hour lessons.
