Native Plant Landscaping - Tuesday - March 12
Colorado has a wealth of native plants, colorful wildflowers, grasses, shrubs and trees, which are well adapted to our variable climate, soils, temperatures and elevations. Basic Botany Class - Tuesday, March 26
Enjoy an interactive, fun and fact-filled class designed to prepare you for success in your study of Colorado's flora. Plant Families and Keying Class - Tuesday, April 2
This class delves deeper into intricacies of Colorado plant families, including key identifying characteristics, followed by a close-up opportunity to key out plants in the field (weather permitting). Introduction to Invasive Weeds and Management - Thursday - April 4

Invasive Weed Management for Experienced Land Owners - Tuesday - April 30
An intermediate to advanced class taught by CSU’s Dr. George Beck for those that have experienced previous weed training and will cover weed biology and ecology and how this information is used when designing weed management strategies. Ecologically-based weed management will be emphasized including information on using grazing to manage weeds as well as integrating herbicide use with seeding for site recovery. Beyond Bloom - Comparison of Ecosystems - Saturday, 5/4, 5/25, 6/22
Let's have a closer look at plant families and survival adaptations as elevation changes. For instance, why the rosaceae family ranges from foothills woody Prunus americana (wild plum) to alpine Acomastylis rossii (alpine avens). Discover Staunton State Park - Monday - June 24
Explore Colorado's newest state park! Spend a half-day hiking at Staunton State Park guided by state park volunteers who are Native Plant Masters. Enjoy views of high rocky outcrops while learning about the plants of the upper Montane ecosystem. Discover interesting new plants while enjoying old favorites during this 2.5 mile hike to riparian areas of the Mason Creek Trail. This new park is located off Highway 285 18 miles south of C470.
