Besides traditional 4-H programming, Jefferson County is pleased to offer after-school and in-school programs that will enhance the education of Jefferson County school-age youth. All curriculum is research based and complementary to current standards of education. All programs currently offered include: Standards-based Science Curriculum Mini
Greenhouse Mini Greenhouse provides students the opportunity to learn the importance of plants, what plants need to live and functions of plant parts.

The Study of Life Embryology: The Study of Life is designed to provide background information and exciting life science activities for use in your classroom. Children are naturally curious about living things in the world around them. Building on this curiosity, students can develop an understanding of biology concepts through direct experience with living things, including hatching eggs in their own classroom.
Incubators, eggs and literature are available for use in classrooms. For more information on this program, call the 4-H Office at 303-271-6620. Fees include a $5.00 incubator rental fee and mileage for the presenter. National
Western Stock Show Tours National Western Stock Show (NWSS) tours are an opportunity for students to learn the affect of agriculture and animal sciences on their lives. This program, designed for 2nd and 4th grade students, includes:
In preparation for your trip, a NWSS volunteer will provide a pre-tour classroom visit. At the pre-tour visit, the volunteer will discuss what the students will be seeing as well as safety procedures. Letters and sign-up forms will be sent to teachers in November. educational program designed to enhance After-school and summer 4 H clubs are available to schools with after-school or summer programming needs for a nominal fee. Programming fees, instructional assistance and support are available. For a list of possible projects to have in your program please reference 4-H program list. Master Gardener, Wildlife Master, Native Plant Master. To have a Master Gardener, Wildlife Master or Native Plant Master come speak to your kids, call the Jefferson County Extension Office.
