TIPS:

-Although it is not yet required, typing your applications will give you a better chance of being selected. If you do not have a computer, contact your extension office; they will be glad to let you use one of theirs.

-Be Brief. It is not necessairly bad to have lengthy essays and applications, but papers that suffer from passive language and that take a long time to develop an idea will be more likely to loose the readers attention. When you cut to the point, the reader will remember things easier.

-Think about what a judge will experience. For example, the person juding your application has just finished reviewing 30 scholarships and yours is the last one. By this point your judge may be tired and not entirely focused. What things would you need to put in your application that would stand out to him/her no matter how tired he/she is?
