Seedling Trees
As a cooperator with the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS), Morgan County Extension is takes orders for seedling trees. The seedling tree program enables farmers, ranchers, and rural landowners who own at least two acres of land to obtain trees at a nominal fee. The program encourages landowners to establish effective windbreaks; to reduce erosion; to protect homes, cropland, livestock, and highways; and to enhance wildlife habitat. CSFS Nursery trees and shrubs are grown for their conservation benefits only. Trees may not be resold as living plants. Sales for trees and shrubs will begin in November 2010. Contact Joanne Jones at 542-3542 for more information or to pickup a planning booklet or order form. |

Useful Information
Soil Temperatures (click for link) ET Rates for Grass (click for link)
So that we can have more precise estimates of the amount of irrigation to apply to turf it is helpful to know actual ET rates. (ET – precipitation = irrigation amount required.)
